Dumbbell Upright Rows


This exercise is for developing the shoulder and trapezius muscles, and also for creating separation between the chest and shoulder muscles.

This exercise can be done with dumbbells as shown or a barbell or ez bar.


The below video demonstrates how to do this exercise. You can also do this with a barbell.

 

 

 

Instructions

  1. Standing grasping the dumbbells in from of your thighs with your palms facing you.
  2. Lift the dumbbells straight up, keeping them close to your body. keep your back straight and feel the movement.
  3. Slowly lower the weights back down.


This is an exercise that you should do strictly, without cheating or swinging the weights. If you are using dumbbells then be careful not to hit yourself in the face with them as you lift the weights up.
