Billy Blanks Tae Bo Cardio Workouts

Tae Bo can offer a great cardio workout which you can do in the comfort of your own home.

Tae Bo uses a combination of martial arts style movements and aerobics, its a fast paced home workout which when followed correctly can produce some excellent results.


I have tried a number of the Tae Bo workouts and i am writing a short review on the ones i have tried.


All of the Tae Bo workouts will have a cardio effect i like the Tae Bo Cardio Circuit series and currently own them on DVD.

Any form of exercise which increases your heart rate is considered as a cardio workout and Tae Bo home workouts do just this. You don't have to be the next Jackie Chan either in order to complete these workouts. There is kicking and punching drills involved but they are basic movements and if you can lift your leg as high as demonstrated then don't worry, as long as you are achieving your own highest intensity.


What i like the most about Tae Bo workouts is that you can feel yourself progressing very quickly. Every workout will get a little easier and you will feel you can do more and put in extra effort.

Remember

Like all forms of exercise you will get out of Tae Bo what you put in it. Give each workout 100% and you will see results fast.


If you have been following my muscle building progress then you will have seen that i have been doing Tae Bo for my cardio sessions and sometimes its impossible for me to leave the house due to child care and other issues. I hold Tae Bo cardio workouts responsible for my rapid fat loss throughout the 12 week program i followed.


Every workout i have tried i always find myself sweating at the end of it and out of breath, these home workouts feel like they are working from day 1 and after a few days you will find yourself addicted. I usually do 2-3 sessions per week of Tae Bo and will continue to do so.


Tae Bo Cardio Circuit 1


Cardio circuit 1
features a full body workout which splits your body into segments. As you can see by the video this workout is fast paced and will have your heart pounding. This workout lasts for around 36minutes and dose not require any equipment for it. cardio circuit 1 is a very enjoyable workout and i highly recommend it.

 

Cardio Circuit 2


Circuit 2
is not as fast paced as circuit 1. there are more kicking drills and it is slightly more geared towards technique. The workout is longer at 56minutes and is a total body workout. This is a good workout however i would say it is more geared towards the intermediate level as the kicks can be fairly difficult to master for a newbie. This workout is great fun but requires a little more space then the other workout in the cardio series.

Top Tip

Working out with a family member or friend can be a great motivator. You can both help each other get over the 'hump' and break through new fitness barriers.


Which ever Tae Bo workout you decide to follow you should aim for at least 2 workouts per week. When i first started following it i used to workout on a tuesday and a thursday. As time went on and my fitness levels improved i added another workout, so now i do 3 Tae Bo cardio workouts per week. I would do more however i train with weights on days in between so don't want to over do it.
