There are many different workouts you can choose from in order to flatten your abs and get that washboard abs look. Most people when they start working out they are just focused on doing sit ups and nothing else.
The truth is that it is not sit ups that will give you a flat stomach, it is in fact a combination of the following:
To get a flat stomach the main thing that you have to do is burn fat. This is best done by following points 1 and 2 above. Once you have got your body fat below 15% then you should start adding
abdominal exercises to tone the stomach area and build muscle to get that "popped out" 6 pack look.
The saying goes that 'abs are created in the kitchen' and this is a true statement. If you are not eating clean and healthy then you have no chance of ever seeing your abdominal muscles. Your diet should count for 70% of success the other 30% is a combination of exercise and lifestyle changes.
Everyone has the ability to get a flat stomach and with a little will power and determination you will succeed with your goals.
There are 2 parts to this workout and you should aim to complete 3-4 workouts per week for optimum effectiveness.
Part 1
The first part is a body weight circuit designed to burn fat by increasing your heart rate and making you sweat. (Trust me i have done this workout and regularly do it. and if you give it 100% you will be dripping in sweat after.)
The above video demonstrates the workout and includes 6 bodyweight exercises you can do at home. Each exercise should be done in a continuous circuit with 15 seconds 'on' and 15 seconds 'off'.
The exercises are as follows:
Aim to do between 3-5 sets and do as many reps as you possibly can in each 15second set. The more you put into this workout the more you will get out of it.
After you have complete 3-5 sets then it is time to move onto part 2 of this home abdominal workout.
Part 2
The second part of this home workout to flatten abs focuses on your core. The workout in the video demonstrated by Vince Delmonte uses a medicine ball, you do not need to use one and can use any household object with a little weight to it which should offer some resistance.
The workout sees you doing 200 reps and your core should feel fully worked after.
The combination of the body weight circuit and the core workout will help you shift that unwanted body fat and strengthen and firm your abdominal's giving you that sought after flat stomach.
If you already have a flat stomach then this workout will still benefit you.
