A home workout can be done by any person and anywhere and no matter what your goals are there is a workout that you can do at home.
When planning your own home workouts you need to take a few things into consideration.
Where are you going to train?
This is an important part of setting up your own home training plan. Do you have a spare room, garage or big back garden you can use? If so then that's great as these locations are excellent for turning into a home gym.
If you are like me and don't have a spare room then you can just use some free floor space in any room of your house, providing the home owner will let you.
The area should be free from as many distractions as [possible as you will want to concentrate 100% when working out.

What are your goals?
Setting goals is so important as they help you focus on your training and stay motivated throughout.
When i first started my own 12 week muscle building challenge, i set my self some short and long term goals when i regularly kept an eye on. This goals were something i was passionate about achieving so kept me motivated.
Fitness goals are usually split into 3 different headings:
Your goals should then be in a subcategory of the above headings and more specific. For example if your goal was to build muscle, then how much muscle and over what time scale.
What equipment do you have access to?
This will determine what sort of workout you can have. If you have access to weights such as dumbbells then great as you can use these to workout at home with. If you don't have any equipment at all then don't worry as you can get fantastic results just from doing bodyweight workouts.
What are your current fitness abilities?
This should effect which workout program you pick from the home workout guide. There is no point in running a marathon when you cant even walk down the block without getting out of breathe.
What ever home workout routine you pick make sure that it works on progression. Start off lightly and slowly and as you get used to training you can up the intensity each week.
Use the navigation bar on the left hand side of this page to choose a home workout routine that best suits your goals.
