Burning fat and weight loss is a common goal for most people. Almost everyone who does not do regular exercise and eats unhealthy will have some unwanted fat on their bodies.

Stored body fat can be stubborn to shift and for some people this is a very hard process just like gaining muscle and weight is for someone who is skinny.


On this page i will show you some quick and easy weight loss tips and some great home fitness workouts that you can do in the comfort of your own home to help you melt away that unwanted body fat.

Working out at home is a great way of keeping fit and burning fat and there are a variety of exercises you can do in the confines of your own home to help you achieve this.


One of the best home fitness workouts for fat loss would be a combination of weight training and cardio. Weight training is a fantastic way to burn that excess fat and should not just be done by muscle heads looking to get girls to hang off of their biceps. Lean muscle tissue will keep your metabolism high and a good weight training session will keep your body in fat burning mode for the rest of the day as your muscles will be working hard to repair themselves.


If you do not have access to any weight lifting equipment then don't worry any form or resistance exercise will do such as resistance bands, kettle bells, bodyweight exercises or even using house hold items such as bags of sugar etc.


There are many home fitness workouts to choose from to help you burn fat and increase your fitness levels. You should try and find an activity that you enjoy and do not find boring. This will help keep you entertained and motivated.

A great workout you can do in the comfort of your own home is simply following an aerobic workout DVD. There are hundreds to choose from and i cant really offer advice on which one is best as i have not seen them all. My favourite one which combines cardio, strength and toning are Tae Bo workouts.

Tae Bo was created by Billy Blanks and is basically boxersise. You follow exactly what he dose and go through a series of drills and exercises. There are a number of different workouts you can do and for a variety of fitness levels. You can follow the workout as many times as you want. 3-5 sessions a week is ideal. Most of the workouts last around 30minutes and i have followed a few of them before specifically the boot camp ones and have found them to be great home fitness workouts.


The best thing about Tae Bo Home Workouts is that they are relatively old and you can now pick up a box set for little money. Considering the price of a personal trainer these workout DVD's are a worthy investment. The Bruce Lee Workout Routine.

As with any home fitness workouts make sure you have the space in your home, garage or garden to perform these workouts. Tae Bo requires you to be swing your arms and legs about so make sure that you are not going to hit anything.

Interval training
is another excellent way of burning body fat in a short space of time. Only 20minutes of interval training will burn as many calories as running for around an hour or more. This makes your workouts more time effective and you can spend the rest of your day doing your own thing and not in the gym.


Interval training is based on YOUR own intensity levels and an example of a workout is shown below.

To complete this short 10 minute workout you would do 2 minutes of jogging at 50% of your maximum effort. Increase the pace slightly to 60% so go a little faster. After 20 seconds you will sprint for 20 seconds at 100% effort as fast as you can, and then jog for 20 and so on.


Another version of interval training would be finding a hill or steep slop that is approximate 50-100 metres. The idea would be to sprint up the hill as fast as you can and then stroll back to the bottom and repeat 4-5 times. This type of workout will place a great demand on your cardiovascular system and improve fitness levels dramatically.

P90x home fitness workouts is a 12 week plan which is based around muscle confusion. Its a new method of training however lots of people have tried and tested it and gotten great results from it. Nutrition Tips

Nutrition counts for around 70% of success. If you are not watching what you eat then you will get the most benefit from your home fitness workouts.


Always eat regularly throughout the day.
Eating smaller meals every 3 hours or so will speed up your metabolism reducing body fat increasing muscle and improve your overall mood.


Consume some slow release protein before bed
Keep your body in constant supply of protein during the night, consume some protein such as a glass of milk or a protein shake before bed.


Cut out sugars and sweets
Stop eating sweets, biscuits, crisps and fizzy drinks they contain empty calories that will just add layers of fat and give you inconsistent supply of energy throughout the day.


Keep a meal diary
Log what you eat and plan your meals in advance so you never look in the cupboard scratching your head, you will automatically know what you are eating next and stick to it.


Increase your intake of essential fatty acids

Take an EFA or omega 3,6,9 or flax seed oil product, this will help regulate your hormone levels. I used an inexpensive product from my local health shop in capsule form. EFA's are also said to keep your body from storing as much fat.

Avoid lots of caffeine
Caffeine can stop your body from absorbing vital nutrients such as zinc and iron. Limit it your self to a few cups of coffee a day if any.

Consume a high protein breakfast
Your body will have been fasting for 8 hours so it is important to fuel it with protein in the mornings.


Take a good multivitamin product.
As you build your body it will word at an incredible rate to try and repair damaged cells. For this reason and many more you need extra vitamins in your diet. Eating more leafy green vegetables can help with this.


Consume a high protein and carbohydrate shake post workout.
