The Best Way To Get Fit WITHOUT A Gym

Getting fit in the comfort of your own home is possible. You do not need a gym membership to lead a fit and healthy lifestyle. You do not need any fancy pieces of equipment or the latest craze in fitness programs.

If you are training in your own home and do not have any equipment then the best home workouts you can do are bodyweight circuits.


Circuit training is a very popular way to get fit, burn fat and build muscle in a shorter time then a conventional workout. The best thing about circuit training is that you can totally customize it to fit your own specific needs.


A circuit is basically a combination of different exercises which you would usually move from one exercise to another until all exercises are complete and then repeat the circuit.


Example


Exercise 1-----> Exercise 2-----> Exercise 3----->Exercise 4


The number of different exercises and the types of exercises will vary between programs.


Each exercise could be performed for a specific number of reps or for a specific amount of time.


You can either go from one exercise to another or a timed rest period. Years ago i used to do martial arts training and the instructor would make you do 2-3 laps of the hall after each exercise so you go a break from the exercises but your heart rate was always raised.


After you have done all the exercises in most circuit programs you would usually rest for a specific amount of time and then repeat the circuit again.


Here is a great example of a body weight circuit which does not require any equipment.

Below is a great home workout circuit which uses a simple set of dumbbells and a bench.

The above circuits only use 4 exercises however each one lasts for a minute. Intensity can be varied by adjusting the speed of the reps or the amount of weight that you lift.


Here is another example of a great home fitness workout that is slower paced then the above and ideal for toning your muscles.




The below 15 minute boot camp style home workout is great for burning fat. You need more open space then you would do at home so you will need to do this one outside.
