Dumbbell Squats

There are many different versions of this dumbbell home exercise however the mechanics of the exercise are the same and all involve the same sort of movement.

Instructions

  1.  Stand with you feet about shoulder width apart with a dumbbell in each hand. Your hands should be by your sides with palms facing your outer thighs.
  2. Keeping your head up and your abdominal muscles tight, you need to squat down until your thighs are parallel with the floor.
  3. Slowly come back up to the starting position.dumbbell squats



Do not lock your knees when you come back up to the starting position, and they should be slightly bent.


The exercise should be down slowly and controlled, it is important to feel the muscle working and get maximum benefit from this home exercise.


Squats should be added to all workout routines as they are the best way to build muscle on your legs. The legs are a large muscle group and working them out with cause your body to burn more fat.


If you do not have access to weights then you can do bodyweight squats using your own bodyweight as resistance or hold heavy household objects in your hands like bottles of water.
