The beauty of bodyweight exercises is that you can do them anywhere. It is possible to get a complete home workout without using any equipment and just your bodyweight as resistance.
On this page you will find a selection of my favorite bodyweight workouts and you will also have the opportunity to post your own workouts onto the site for others to try and comment on.
The best thing about bodyweight exercises is that you do not need alot of space to them. For example a simple push up can be done in any space that allows you to lay flat on the floor. A bodyweight squat can be done in any space that you can basically stand in.
Bodyweight exercises are often under used by many people training and i am of the opinion that they should be added to everyone's training program regardless of your experience. I have a little example of this. A few few months ago i met up with a buddy of mine. He's fairly muscular and can bench press a lot more then me, however i can do more push ups then him because he never does them.
My Favorite Bodyweight Exercises

One of the best methods of bodyweight training is to combine a series of bodyweight exercises into a circuit.
A circuit is when you have a series of exercises which are usually a combination of strength exercises and aerobic exercises. For example you pick 5 exercises and complete the required number of reps for each one. After the last rep is done this is 1 circuit completed, you would usually rest for a few seconds and then start again.
Example Circuit
Push Ups 15 reps
Bodyweight Squats 15 reps
Burpees 15 reps
Sit Ups 15 reps
Reverse Crunches 15 reps
As you can see with the above circuit you would complete 15 reps of each exercise and when all 5 are completed then this is 1 circuit. You could then rest 30-60seconds and repeat 1-10 more times depending on your fitness abilities.
Each exercise in your home workout circuit does not have to be done in the number of reps. You could time each exercise and do for example as many reps as you can for 15 seconds for each exercise.
